"New Baby" - a fun & heartwarming video (from Google) #video
I found this video on YouTube about a soon-to-be first-time dad going through the motions of preparing for well... being a first-time dad.
The Google Search guys have made some really clever videos in the past for their Google Search Stories series, and this one is funny and heartwarming at the same time.
Personally, I would stop at one, but hey, with Google search, anything can happen and plans can change. :)
Enjoy the video.
THE NEW DORK - Entrepreneur State of Mind ("New York" by Jay-Z ft Alicia Keys Spoof)
The cool people at Skype should do more fun videos like this really cool spoof of "New York" by Jay-Z ft Alicia Keys. It will help them stay connected with the young and the tech folk audience.
I thought the guy rapping was funny, but when the young lady doing AK, came on I couldn't stop laughing. Funny as hell. I'd hire her for my next short film in a heartbeat. Then again I'm in Singapore, so I may not be able to hire her anytime soon. Can someone hire her for their next short film, if she fits the part? I think she played AK pretty well, and if the voice we heard came from her pipes give her a recording contract, dammit!
Enjoy!
Thanks...
...to my buddy @yaoquan for info abt this video.

Men Vs Wild -- Awesome Times Two
"Man Vs Wild" is probably one of the most awesome shows ever created. There's something about watching how an ordinary human being can survive the most unfriendly environments in the world, and Bear Grylls shows us how it's done in the most straightforward way possible. Simply watching the show can make men question their own masculinity.
I'm sure a lot of men, me included, wouldn't pass up a chance to go with Bear on one of his up-close-and-personal encounters with Mother Nature. This is the reason why Discovery Channel came up with the brilliant idea of "upgrading" the series for this season into "Men Vs Wild," where Bear teams up with another celebrity to face the world and all its cruelty.
Will Ferrell, American funny guy, was the first to sign up.
I was able to watch the debut of "Men Vs Wild" yesterday. Not to spoil anything if you missed it, but Will was such a great choice for Bear's companion. According to Bear, he only asked Will to do two things for the show: One, to show up alone and without an entourage, and two, to trust him. Will did both, and they had a swell time.
Of course, "swell" is relative -- the two underwent 48 punishing hours in the Arctic, with the ever-resourceful Bear finding means and ends to ensure they both survive the trek. Will, on the other hand, provided a lot of banter throughout the show -- I swear, it was awesome times two.
If you missed it, and you live in Southeast Asia, then you can still catch "Men Vs Wild" encore showing on Saturday, August 8 at 6 PM, and Sunday, August 9, at 10 AM. Miss it, and you'll be half a man.
Disgruntled Musician Gets Back At Airline On YouTube
I found this on YouTube two days ago and told myself I *had* to write a little about this for Friday's (today) article.
If you're working for an airline company, then here's a tip you might want to share with the guys at the baggage department -- Handle baggage labeled "FRAGILE" with care. Apparently it's a lesson that United Airlines is learning the hard way.
Dave Carroll, a Canadian folk singer, debut his first of three YouTube music videos earlier this week, entitled "United Breaks Guitars." It was a way of getting back at United Airlines for breaking his precious guitar on a flight he took last year and refusing to take responsibility for the damage.
Carroll was took a United Airlines flight between his hometown of Halifax, Canada, to a gig in Omaha, Nebraska in March last year. He was traveling with his band, Sons Of Maxwell, when a passenger sitting behind the group looked out the airplane window at the baggage handling people and exclaimed, "Oh my God, they're throwing guitars out there!"
Surely enough, Carroll's TAYLOR guitar was broken badly. He then spent the next year calling up United Airline representatives in Chicago, New York, Canada, and even India, with the guys at United passing the blame and saying it was someone else's fault.
When United Airlines ultimately refused to pay for the damages (which amounted up to US$1,200), the frustrated Carroll decided to make a music video about his experience and post it on YouTube.
700,000 views later, United Airlines is now trying to make peace with Carroll and his band. They've obviously taken notice of the video (and the announcement that two more music videos were on the way) and want to treat it as a textbook case in handling customer complaints.
I'd like to say this is a good thing for United to do (since I'm pretty sure Carroll's YouTube video will cost United at least a million dollars in business), and if other airlines know what's best for them, they ought to start getting their act straight, as well. They need to stop thinking that disgruntled customers will just have to swallow the bad service -- you'll never know what they can do with the Internet.
Lance Armstrong Got The Upgrade **chuckle**
I love cycling. Though I haven't been involved in it actively in any form of late, I still follow enough news on cycling and competitions. etc.
I don't know how I found this article. One article let to another and so on, but hey, I'm not complaining. It's a good read. Funny too.
Anyway, through this somewhat accidental experiment in social nosiness... I also found this image below through Lance's Twitter messages.
Jon Stewart Lays The Smack Down On Jim Cramer
I'm much more of a movie guy than a TV guy, but I always try to catch The Daily Show with Jon Stewart every chance I get. I swear, he may not know how to dance with the rich snobs at the Oscars, but he sure knows how to poke fun at the world's politics right where it hurts. Last week, though, he also showed me that he's also one of the most knowledgeable media critics in the world today.
A little over a week ago, I wrote a bit about Rick Santelli's infamous “rant of the year,” where he criticized the Obama Administration's efforts to help the poor keep their homes. He went so far as to call victims of the foreclosure as “losers,” that they deserved to lose their homes, and implied that the money should instead go to those who were “smart” enough not to get caught up in the crisis.
How To Make A Million Dollars - By Jon Stewart
I am posting this mostly for the benefit of my readers in Asia and the EMEA.
It's confirmed. We are now, officially, a society of misguided fools. Yeah, those loser homeowners should lose their homes, especially the ones who had added an extra bathroom and therefore, now, can't afford to pay their bills.
Thank you CNBC for helping us figure that out. Thank you Wall Street for doing nothing and still asking all of us for more money.
